From article Obama and the false prophets of climate alarmism. Christopher Tremoglie. November 11, 2021

For a media that allegedly hates lying former presidents, there sure seems to be a deafening silence when former President Barack Obama does it.

Speaking before the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, Obama blamed the Trump administration for "active hostility toward climate science," NBC News reported .

In doing so, Obama also peddled the same, tired, climate change cultist rhetoric that many leftists embrace despite their bearing no relation to science.

“You’ve been bombarded with warnings about what the future will look like if you don’t address climate change,” Obama said.

“And, meanwhile, you’ve grown up watching many of the adults who are in a position to do something about it either acting like the problem doesn’t exist or refusing to make the hard decisions needed to do something about it.”

But what if the “warnings” are hype and not based on any sort of scientific consensus?

In 2019, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez famously declared the world had 12 years to fix carbon emissions or we would cross a point of no return.

This was just the latest doomsday prediction by a climate change cult desperate to make people take their issue seriously.

Yet, in March 2019, the Associated Press accurately reported that there is no "scientific consensus" on such a claim.

Then, later in the year AOC walked back the warning and criticized people for taking her literally and seriously.

“This is a technique of the GOP, to take dry humor + sarcasm literally and ‘fact check’ it,” AOC tweeted.

“Like the ‘world ending in 12 years’ thing, you’d have to have the social intelligence of a sea sponge to think it’s literal.”

Dry humor, huh?

If Obama wants to know why people are skeptical of climate change, he should ask AOC.

In 1970, one of the first “we’re all going to die because of pollution” warnings occurred when Harvard biologist, George Wald, warned, “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken.”

Fifty years later, we are still here.

If Obama wants to blame why people are skeptical of climate change claims, he should start with the original alarmist, George Wald.

In 2008, former Vice President Al Gore, while speaking in Germany, stated “the entire North polar ice cap may well be completely gone in 5 years.”

Yet, here we are in 2021, and it is not even close to coming true.

Despite some ice loss last decade that garnered the attention of scientists around the world, Arctic sea ice is currently growing faster than ever before on record.

If Obama wants to blame the Trump administration for climate change skepticism, he should probably start with the inaccuracies of environmentalist fanatics.

The cultist, alarmist, climate change lies have continued for decades.

James Hansen lectured Congress in 1989, proclaiming Manhattan's West Side Highway would be underwater by 2019.

Some scientists predicted around the same time that the Maldives would be underwater by 2018.

Obviously, that didn't happen.

It is not close to happening now.

Today, you can't even afford real estate in the Maldives — that's how worried people are who actually have something at stake in that nation's 1,200 islands, not one of which went underwater in the last 35.

But the idea of whole nations being washed away — in the late 1980s, they used to claim this was going to happen to Egypt as well, a claim you never see anymore — captures the imagination, so they keep repeating it.

Glacier National Park once had signs posted throughout stating there would not be any glaciers by 2020.

They had to remove the signs when those claims turned out to be hilariously incorrect.

Obama and other climate change cultists have been persistently wrong in nearly every warning they have given about the ramifications of climate change.

Their false prophecies are legion, and they go back at least half a century.

Yet people still pump out these doomsday predictions and accompany them with sloganeering such as, “Trust the science.”

Well, the science is wrong, and so is everyone saying these things.

Human activity may be affecting world temperatures, but that doesn't validate whatever claims and warnings activists and politicians make about the future.

Many of them are completely baseless.

Even scientists are not always above making extremely unscientific predictions.

Obama has proven to be a false prophet when it comes to climate change.

Then again, so, too, has nearly everyone who made predictions.

It is time to start acknowledging these lies and vigorously pushing back against them.

… …

In 2019, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez famously declared the world had 12 years to fix carbon emissions or we would cross a point of no return. Then, later in the year AOC walked back the warning and criticized people for taking her literally and seriously.

Just joking.

“Climate experts believe the next ice age is on its way. Recent evidence shows it could come sooner than anyone expected. According to some climatologists within a lifetime we might be living in the next ice age.”

The current period of natural, cyclical rising temperatures is magic and a dream for negative misery-aspiring Democrats and socialists.

We and They see and know zat dem anti-economy grow, penury-equality-aspiring misery-wuving (we’re united victims) socialists have been disappointed by the past repeated failures of socialism to take hold and wrest freedom, prosperity, and happy from the U.S. and drive us All down and back to miserable Old.

Global warming has been seized upon and is being turned into an effective tool for reaching their now-within-reach goal of miserable global socialism.
